CERN: Japan's first
high-school beam experiment.
A five-member team of junior- and senior-high students, “Sakura Particles,” became the first team from Japan ever selected for CERN’s Beam Line for Schools competition. For three weeks at the particle-physics laboratory in Geneva, they put a detector they had built themselves into a real beam.
